David Mueller

Contemporary / Hip Hop


David Mueller is a graduate of the Bachelor of Arts (Dance) course at The West Australian Academy of Performing Arts (WAAPA) where he worked in a number of productions including The Awesome Festival, In Transit as part of the 2005 Artrage Festival and the student choreography season of Tapas. He also performed in The Countdown Spectacular at Burswood Dome in 2007, The Oz Concert and attended Options Tertiary Dance Festival in Adelaide, Brent Street Summer School in Sydney and Youth Dance Advance in NSW.

In 2001, David won the West Australian Young Performer of the Year Award (Dance) and in 2004 was awarded the Critics Choice 'Dancer to Watch (Perth)' by Dance Australia Magazine.

Since 2006 David has been performing in the production of Honour Bound, directed by Nigel Jamieson and choreographed by Garry Stewart (ADT). Honour Bound toured to The Sydney Opera House, Malthouse Theatre (Melbourne), The Vienna Festival, Holland Festival, The Barbican Theatre (London) as part of the bite ‘07 season and The New Zealand International Arts Festival 2008 in Wellington and won a number of Awards.

Recently, David choreographed Welcome and co-choreographed A Life's Work in the John Curtin College of the Arts Performance Season, was awarded 'Runner-Up' in the SYTYCD Westfield Dance Competition and is now teaching at performing arts high schools, dance institutions and WAAPA. David is also a founding company member of Perth's newest contemporary dance company, Visible Dance.

Later this year, David has been invited to be involved in the creation of a new dance work in New York with Canberra choreographer Cadi McCarthy. The production will involve professional dancers from all over Australia and is expected to be performed in New York and Canberra.

Gillian Sarangapany

Ballet Balance / Classical Fusion


After graduating with an Advanced Diploma of Dance, Gillian was selected to join Link Dance Company for 2006 under the direction of Michael Whaites and graduated with a Bachelor of Arts (Dance) at the Western Australian Academy of Performing Arts. Gillian has toured with the company internationally and has performed in numerous parts of Europe. She has worked closely with choreographers such as Justin Rutzou, Sue Peacock, Annabelle Bonnery, Clare Dyson, Sandra Parker and many more. After performing for Strut in 2007, Gillian travelled to London and took part in several independent performances.

In 2000, Gillian was an award winner of the Australian Institute of Classical Dance (Royal Academy of Dancing) and was invited to perform with the West Australian Ballet for their season of Cinderella. In 2006, she was awarded the Critics Choice ‘Dancer to Watch’ (Perth) by Dance Australia Magazine.

Gillian has taught Classical Ballet, Contemporary, Jazz and Neo Classical at various dance schools around Perth.

Corrosive

Breakdance


Corrosive began learning the art of B-boying in the summer of 2001 in Milton Keynes (United Kingdom) where he was taught the basic foundations by a friend. They continued to further their skills under the crew name of MK City Breakerz for the following 4 years.

In 2005, Corrosive decided to move to London to further his skills under the tutelage of Old School UK legend Dolby D from the London Allstar Breakers. Whilst in London, he gained a far greater understanding of what it takes to be a hood super hero, how to be strong, supple, and self reliant.

Corrosive has been invited to perform at various night clubs, corporate events and battles in and around the South East and Midlands of England.

This year, after many years of trying to balance full time work with his dancing, Corrosive has decided to move to Perth to pass his knowledge onto the other side of the world.

Jess Sweeney

Hip Hop / Funk


Jess has been dancing and performing since she was 4 years old. In that time, she has been involved in many productions including Goosebumps, developed for the Channel 7 Kids Carnival, The Adams Family Stage Show, produced by Studio 24 Music and Back to The Future, which was performed at the Don Russel Performing Arts Centre and major Shopping Centre venues.

Jess recieved the lead role of 'Dorothy' in Willetton Senior High Schools production of The Wizard of Oz in 2005 and was the character 'Bobby' in The New MacDonald's Farm Stage Show which was presented at the 'Turning on of the Christmas Lights', Forrest Place, Perth in 2006.

In 2003, Jess attended the LA Dance Force workshop and was awarded a Scholarship. She also participates in the Brent Street Summer School in Sydney every January where she recieves extensive training in all areas of performing arts.

This year, Jess is involved with Studio 24 Music's Professional Corporate Shows, is in The Willetton Tigerettes Cheersquad and is a company member of 'Steps Youth Dance Company' for their June 2008 season nospace.
